check-in process
park your vehicle / go through registration line / go to dorms / set up your bunk / hang out time: explore camp / go to dining hall for supper when it is announced
When you arrive at the camp one of our volunteers will direct you to parking. Once you’ve parked, head to the dining hall for check-in. Check-in is extremely important because we want to know exactly who is with us for the duration of our camp and how to get in contact with their parent or guardian in the unlikely event an emergency.
Once your camper has been checked in and you’ve made sure that all of the required forms have been completed, registration fees have been paid, your camper’s phone has been turned in or is heading back home, and any medications have been given to the camp nurse, you can accompany your camper to the dorms.
Help your camper find an available bunk and get settled in. At this point the camper is free to hang out with the other campers and adult staff who will be hosting games and activities around the campgrounds. At this point you are free to head back to your vehicle and and head home. If anything comes up during the week and you need to get in contact with your student, you will be able to do so by calling the camp at 712-423-3313 and asking to speak with the dean.
During the week
No two camps at Nebowa are exactly alike—each is thoughtfully crafted by our deans to meet the needs of a specific age group. Still, every camper experiences the same heartbeat of Nebowa: sharing meals made with care, diving into God’s Word in classes and chapel, laughing through games and adventures on the lake, and closing each night with songs and stories by the fire beneath the stars.
check-out process
park your vehicle / find your camper / collect check-out form, medications, and cell phones in the dining hall / fill out form / collect all personal items from the dorms / turn in the form as you exit to the north of the camp / have a great summer!
When you come back to the camp to pick up your camper, you’ll want to head to the dining hall to begin the check-out process. This is when you will get your check-out form, collect medications, and pick up your camper’s cell phone. Once you’ve gone through that line, be sure your camper has collected all of their personal items from the dorms (bedding, clothing, and toiletries). You will be required to fill out the check-out form completely with your name and relationship to the camper, contact information, and the time you leave the camp and turn it in at the bottom of the hill as you exit to the north of the camp.
