This Summer's Featured Mission
BJ & Mary Leonard
BJ and Mary Leonard are serving in Kenya through discipleship, education, and leadership development.
BJ helps equip pastors and missionaries to share the Gospel and make disciples throughout Kenya and beyond. Mary serves through education and helps families develop opportunities to support themselves while participating in ministry.
This summer, Camp Nebowa is partnering with the Leonards to help campers see how God is working through missionaries around the world—and to give them an opportunity to take part in that work.
Why Missions Are Part of Camp
One of the things we want campers to understand is that following Jesus is bigger than what happens during a week at Nebowa.
Each summer, we highlight a missionary or ministry partner so campers can learn about how God is working in another place, pray for that work, and have an opportunity to support it.
Campers are invited to participate in the missionary offering throughout the summer. Giving is always optional, but it gives them a practical way to take part in ministry beyond camp.
Our goal is not simply to raise money. We want campers to see that they can be part of what God is doing in the world.
Our Mission Partners
Nebowa's missionary emphasis is meant to build relationships over time, not simply introduce a different organization every summer. As our mission rotation develops, this page will highlight the missionaries and ministries Nebowa returns to and supports. Each summer, one partner will receive special focus while campers continue learning about the broader work God is doing through all of our mission partners.
